Brock Rumlow's first canonical appearance is technically a single-panel cameo at the end of Captain America #359. His first full appearance and introduction is in the following issue, #360.

The name “Brock Rumlow” was chosen by creator Mark Gruenwald, who often enjoyed using names with a certain cadence or sound. “Rumlow” has a guttural, harsh quality fitting the character's brutal nature.

In the MCU, actor Frank Grillo portrayed Brock Rumlow. Grillo was a fan favorite and expressed significant interest in returning to the role, potentially in a prequel or through alternate timeline scenarios, before the conclusion of the Infinity Saga.
