Doctor Voodoo

Part 1: The Dossier: An At-a-Glance Summary

1)
Jericho Drumm's initial moniker was “Brother Voodoo.” The name was officially changed to “Doctor Voodoo” in the 2009 series Doctor Voodoo: Avenger of the Supernatural. According to writer Rick Remender, this was done to lend the character more weight, elevate him beyond his 1970s “Blaxploitation” roots, and reflect his intellectual background as a doctor of psychology.
2)
His first appearance in Strange Tales #169 was not in a traditional color comic, but as the lead feature in a black-and-white magazine-style comic, which was common for Marvel's horror and supernatural titles of the era.
3)
The core concept of Jericho being psychically bonded to his dead twin brother's spirit was a foundational part of his character from his very first appearance, written by Len Wein.
4)
While Jericho Drumm has not appeared in the MCU, the weapon wielded by his brother Daniel Drumm in Doctor Strange bears a strong resemblance to the Staff of the Living Tribunal, a powerful mystical artifact in the comics. This may have been an intentional Easter egg or a hint at the Drumm family's significant mystical lineage.
