1)
The name “Kree” was created by Stan Lee and is thought to be a simple, punchy sci-fi name. There is no confirmed deeper meaning, though some fans have noted its phonetic similarity to the “Cree” indigenous people of North America.
2)
The original blue skin color of the “pure-bred” Kree was, like many early comic book character designs, a practical choice. Bold, primary colors were easy and cheap to print consistently with the four-color printing process of the era.
3)
In Fantastic Four #64, the Kree Sentry 459 is activated by the Inhuman, Maximus. This marked the first time the Kree and their most famous creations were linked in the same story, years before their shared origin was officially revealed.
4)
The concept of the Kree's evolutionary stagnation, introduced by writer Roy Thomas, was a sophisticated piece of sci-fi world-building that provided a compelling, non-military motivation for many of their aggressive actions, including the creation of the Inhumans.
5)
In the MCU, the Kree language is represented by a unique set of angular, runic characters seen on their technology, uniforms, and architecture. This alphabet was created specifically for the films.
6)
The Kree-Skrull War comic storyline is considered one of the first major, multi-issue “event” comics, setting the stage for decades of company-wide crossovers at Marvel.
7)
Hala, the Kree homeworld, is located in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of our own Milky Way.
